Off Tropics is a self-directed residency is designed for artists, curators, producers, cultural organisers, writers, researchers, composers, filmmakers, and cultural practitioners seeking time, focus, and space for sustained work. Situated in a quiet residential area surrounded by greenery, the residency combines accommodation with a private studio environment suitable for writing, composition, research, editing, sound work, and small-scale artistic development. Founded by artists working internationally across sound, performance, and moving image, Off Tropics emerged from a desire to create the kind of place often missing between commercial accommodation and institutional residencies: an affordable environment where concentrated work, rest, and reflection can coexist.
