O espaço
Rachel Eichholtz uses this three-day workshop to compare two common ways of beginning an oil painting: direct observation from life and work developed from photographic reference. Participants explore what each method makes possible, where each can become limiting and how to choose or combine references without losing attention to colour, form and lived observation. The focus is on making conscious choices rather than treating either approach as a fixed rule.
