O espaço
From 6 to 13 May 2027, Amanda Hislop leads a residential textile and mixed-media course at Studio Préniac in southwest France. Participants observe the surrounding landscape, gather marks and textures in sketchbooks, then build layered surfaces on paper and cloth with printing, painting, frottage and hand stitching. Amanda offers individual and group guidance as participants develop samples and ideas toward a personal outcome.
O entorno
Studio Préniac sits in the countryside near Barguelonne-en-Quercy in the Lot region, about 20 minutes from Cahors. The property has converted stone buildings, a dedicated workshop studio, outdoor space and a pool. The course uses the local landscape as a starting point for observation and making.
A estadia
The seven-night programme includes on-site accommodation. Rooms vary from private en suite bedrooms to the Garden Room and gîtes; prices depend on room type and whether two participants share. The studio assumes single occupancy unless guests request a shared room. Bed linen and towels are included.
Bom saber
The participant price includes tuition and basic materials, breakfast, lunch and dinner except for one restaurant meal paid separately, tea and coffee, evening aperitif and wine or beer, transport for planned excursions, and airport transfers at the designated airports and times. Travel to the designated airport, the separate restaurant meal and any tutor-requested specialist materials are extra. Ask the host about current room availability and transfer details before booking.

Landscape observation
Observe and sketch the surroundings, recording marks, textures and colours through drawing and frottage.
Textile exploration
Develop layered surfaces on paper and cloth using print, paint and hand stitching, with individual and group guidance.

Custo
Participant prices per person range from €1,690 for a shared private en suite room to €2,210 for single occupancy in a gîte. Other room and occupancy options are €1,805–€2,095; ask the host to confirm availability. Includes seven nights, course and basic materials, most meals, designated airport transfers and planned excursions. One restaurant meal and any tutor-requested specialist materials are extra.
