O espaço
Janet Brady and Peter Davies teach drawing and painting through a balance of strong foundations and individual creative development. The five-day format allows time for observation, sketching, technical work in a chosen medium and longer personal projects. Participants may work in the studio or visit nearby Devon locations, while the small residential setting gives space for feedback, discussion and continued studio access outside scheduled teaching hours.
O entorno
Brambles is a 17th-century cottage in rural Devon near local lanes, Dartmoor and views toward Launceston Castle. The organisers can collect guests from Okehampton railway station by prior arrangement, and suitable outdoor locations are used when conditions allow.
A estadia
Residential accommodation is included at Brambles, which has three double rooms and three bathrooms. Breakfast, lunch, most dinners and seasonal food and wine are part of the stay. Guests share the cottage, lounge, studio and garden.

The Christmas special runs December 5 to 10, 2026. Five-day prices are GBP 995 single occupancy or GBP 945 per person sharing; a non-painting guest sharing is GBP 850 alongside the painter's fee. A GBP 200 deposit secures a place. Teaching runs roughly 9:30 am to 4:00 pm on five days. Wednesday dinner is at a local pub or restaurant and is paid separately.

Itinerário
Arrival evening
Settle into Brambles, take an optional local walk and share supper with the hosts and other guests.
Daily morning studio
Begin at 9:30 am with demonstrations, foundational exercises or development of an individual project.
Daily afternoon session
Continue from 1:30 to 4:00 pm in the studio or at a nearby sketching and painting location.
Open studio and shared evenings
Use the studio outside teaching hours, then gather for drinks and dinner; Wednesday dinner is off-site and self-paid.
Final day
Complete the course after the Thursday afternoon teaching session.
