My name is Nico. I’m 21 and have recently graduated from a Fine Art and Creative Writing degree at Lancaster University. I am currently exploring sex as a sort of religious act and the looming presence of death during it—as the French say, <<La petite mort>>. Inspired by the culture and language that has given me the ideas behind my work, I wish to have an opportunity to develop my art and writing further in France. I explore intimate confessions with the audience. Focusing on the visual qualities of written text (how it /looks/) on a canvas or page, while also using spoken word performance in conjunction with my art. Text and speculative writing push the meanings of the artworks, urging the audience to experience each piece not only with sight and sound, but also imagination.
