How it works

Exchange
art for
experiences

A simple way to connect creative skills with inspiring spaces. Artists and hosts working together, directly.

Artist residencies

Three ways to take part

Every Artaway residency or creative stay is self-funded, funded, or arranged as an exchange.

Self-funded

Self-funded

The artist pays a fee set by the host. Every self-funded listing shows its price, or says to contact the host.

Artist

Pays the fee shown on the listing for the stay, workspace, or programme.

Host

Provides the accommodation, workspace, and any additional support described in the listing.

Funded

Funded

The host or a programme covers the costs, and sometimes pays the artist a stipend.

Artist

Meets the programme criteria and covers only the costs that are not included.

Host

Covers the stated costs and clearly explains any stipend or support included.

Exchange

Exchange

A direct exchange. The artist contributes agreed creative or practical work instead of paying a fee.

Artist

Contributes the agreed creative work, workshop, or practical help.

Host

Provides the agreed accommodation, workspace, meals, materials, or equipment access.

What makes Artaway different

No fees, no commission

Listing is free for hosts. When an artist and host agree on a stay, the arrangement is theirs. We don't take a cut.

Direct relationships

Artists and hosts message each other directly. We don't sit in the middle of your conversations, your logistics, or your creative decisions.

Built for creative exchange

This isn't a booking platform. It's a place where artists find inspiring spaces and hosts find creative energy, and both sides walk away with more than they came with.

Life on Artaway
