A platform for creative exchange
Art should be accessible
Artaway connects artists with hosts who have inspiring spaces to share. Whether you're a muralist looking for a wall, a writer seeking solitude, or a host wanting to bring creativity into your space — we make it simple to find each other and arrange exchanges, residencies, and paid opportunities.
Too many creative opportunities are hidden behind expensive applications, closed networks, or word of mouth. We believe access to inspiring spaces and creative collaboration should be open to everyone — not just those with the right connections.

Artist painting on newspapers around the world looking for exchange residencies, offering my studio/gallery flat
I've been painting on newspapers since 2012, mostly in Germany, also in India, Bali, Austria, Switzerland, France, England & Moscow & I want to continue around the world, for the sake of this project. I painted for a whole year on the Süddeutsche Zeitung, next goal is to do a daily series for as long as I can afford the time in New York on The New York Times, also want to go to Texas. Have lots of artist in residence experience and have used couch surfing and airbnb to travel the world and stay creative while connecting with other artists around the globe. I love the idea of exchanging studios and living spaces. I have a gallery/studio & a spacious flat that I share with my flat mate, it's in the old city of Burghausen in Bavaria, which lies between Munich & Salzburg. Very open attitude.

Writer seeking residencies across Spain
Hi! I'm Jeremiah — an artist, arts administrator, and educator based in Barcelona, with a background spanning performance, sound healing, and program design across creative and educational spaces. I'm reaching out because I'm searching for a residency where I can dedicate focused time to a body of work centered on Camino — the walk, the journey, the many forms of migration we carry in our bodies and stories. We all vote with our feet. The work moves across three forms: writing, photography, and painting, all in conversation with each other — tracing footsteps, borders, and the sacred ordinary of the road. I've recently completed pilgrimages on the Camino Português and various travels, and this residency would be a chance to translate that lived experience into finished work.
Mixed Media Artist seeks studio in Southern Europe
Irish- Chilean World Citizen
Artist/poet exploring intersections of written and visual arts seeking a studio residency in France
My name is Nico. I’m 21 and have recently graduated from a Fine Art and Creative Writing degree at Lancaster University. I am currently exploring sex as a sort of religious act and the looming presence of death during it—as the French say, <<La petite mort>>. Inspired by the culture and language that has given me the ideas behind my work, I wish to have an opportunity to develop my art and writing further in France. I explore intimate confessions with the audience. Focusing on the visual qualities of written text (how it /looks/) on a canvas or page, while also using spoken word performance in conjunction with my art. Text and speculative writing push the meanings of the artworks, urging the audience to experience each piece not only with sight and sound, but also imagination.
Musician and writer seeking residencies across Southern Europe
My name is Hannes. I grew up near Frankfurt, moved to the UK at 15 where I started making music and finished school, then studied in Amsterdam before landing in Munich. I'm now planning to take a sabbatical to focus, for the first time ever, entirely on making music, writing, and everything inbetween. Starting October 2026 I am looking for somewhere I can work loudly and without interruption — I make electronic and acoustic music (I find nothing more difficult than answering "which genre?") and I write poetry, short prose and lyrics of course. I'm more than happy to share what I make with whoever is interested, or hear what you're working on too. In return I'd love to help out with whatever's needed around the house or garden.
Conceptual Mural Artist | Visual Storyteller | Creating Art That Connects Spaces & People
I am a self-taught conceptual artist and mural artist from India, creating large-scale artworks that transform spaces into meaningful visual experiences. My practice combines murals, wall art, charcoal, acrylic, pen art, and mixed media. I draw inspiration from culture, spirituality, nature, human emotions, and stories hidden in everyday life. Through my art, I love connecting with different communities and places — creating murals, conducting workshops, and sharing creative experiences with people around the world. I enjoy collaborating with hosts, creative spaces, cafes, resorts, and communities where art can become a part of the environment and its story.
What people are saying
From artists and hosts who've connected through Artaway
"In four months I did five art exchanges across Brazil, Spain, Portugal, the UK and Morocco: earth pigment workshops, murals, watercolor residencies. Each time I received everything in return: accommodation, food, workspace, materials. I'd do it all again with this platform bringing more organization and clarity to the stay."
"The spaces we create in shape the work we make. Every residency I've done has opened unexpected doors. Artaway gets that. It's a simple, human way to connect artists with the places and people that inspire them."
