Writers' Retreat at a Historic Loire Valley Château

1/ Applications Applications are made through Artaway. 2/ Payment conditions: A deposit of 50% of the total cost of the retreat is required within 7 days of approval to confirm your booking. The remaining balance must be paid at least six weeks prior to the start of the retreat. ​ If you book less than six weeks before the retreat, full payment is required immediately. We accept Visa and Mastercard, or bank transfers, but do not accept cheques. All reservations are made directly. Cancellations: Cancellations are accepted up to six weeks before the start of the writers' retreats, with a full refund. After that, no refunds will be provided. We adhere to applicable cancellation laws in exceptional circumstances, such as the Covid-19 pandemic. 3/ Early Bird Special: We offer an Early Bird discount of 10%, subject to the following conditions: The booking must be made by the end of February for the May/June retreat, and by the end of May for the September retreat. Full payment is required at the time of booking. Cancellations are only accepted until the end of February or May, respectively. ​ 4/ Participation: There is no minimum participation required. However, if you are the only participant, we will inform you before the cancellation deadline. ​ 5/ Smoking and vaping: All buildings, including the Coach House, are strictly non-smoking and non-vaping. We also kindly request that smoking and vaping be avoided in the pool area and on the château terraces. Elsewhere on the property, we ask smokers to respect non-smokers and to use the individual ashtrays we will provide, so as to avoid littering and any fire hazard. 6/ Pets: Château de Détilly has a strict no pets policy.
