About this opportunity
The space
Casa de Creación is a 1,200 m² studio and workshop with work tables, easels, Wi‑Fi, a ceramics workshop with an electric pottery wheel and kiln, a weaving loom and a library. The space is designed for large-scale and multidisciplinary projects.
Surroundings
The residency is in Buritaca, on the Caribbean coast of Colombia, within the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. A wild jungle beach is a short walk away, with the Buritaca River reachable by a longer beach walk.
Life during a stay
Residents stay in a glamping tent with a king-size bed, equipped kitchen, eco-friendly outdoor bathroom, terrace, hammock and lounge area. Residencies last 1–4 weeks.
What the artist will do
Develop a creative project and explore a reciprocal contribution—such as a workshop, talk, studio visit, community mural or another activity—with the local community.
House rules
Residents cover their own transportation, food and personal or artistic materials. Optional meal plans and additional experiences are available at extra cost.
Good to know
Optional workshops, hikes, cultural visits and natural-park excursions can be arranged at additional cost. Applications are accepted year-round and ask for a work proposal, portfolio or social links, reciprocity idea and two professional references.
