About this opportunity
The space
C2O Library & Collabtive Space is an independent library and cowering space that focuses on literature, technology, art, and culture. Established in mid-2008 in Surabaya, C2O library & collabtive is a self-managed library and coworking space. Its mission is to create spaces, tools, and materials for humans (and non-humans) to learn, work, create, and interact with diverse communities and their surrounding environments, grounded in open and critical thought and action.
Surroundings
It's in the central area of Surabaya. It's close to go to the railway station, airport, malls, convenience store, and cafe. You can go there using motorcycle, car, public bus, or online transport.
Life during a stay
You will be accompanied by residency assistant and curator weekly. In the early of arrival, you will be accompanied to join Surabaya Art Tour, 2-days exploration of Surabaya art ecosystem.
What the artist will do
This international residency welcomes applications from artists, Writers, curators, researchers, designers, and cultural practitioners Working in diverse media for stays of at least one month. The program is largely self-directed, encouraging participants to Pursue their own projects with independence. To complement this, Rentang also offers a supplementary program that introduces artists To the local surroundings and Surabaya’s dynamic art scene while Fostering dialogue and exchange among residents. Selected applicants are required to create a workbook that Documents the whole journey of their residency. This workbook can Consist of archives, photos, illustrations, text, etc.
