About this opportunity
The space
Dar Ya is a charming traditional guesthouse located in the heart of the historic Medina of Tunis. Its authentic architecture, peaceful atmosphere, traditional details, and intimate spaces create an inspiring setting for artistic creation and meaningful encounters. During the artistic immersion, the space will become a living extension of Haïfa Melliti's universe. Her "Goddesses of Light" paintings and intuitive melodies will accompany participants throughout the experience, creating a dialogue between visual art, music, heritage, and creativity. Creative sessions will take place in a warm and welcoming atmosphere designed to encourage freedom of expression, connection, and inspiration.
Surroundings
Dar Ya is located in the historic Medina of Tunis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most culturally rich areas of the Tunisian capital. Participants will be surrounded by traditional architecture, narrow streets, artisan workshops, historic monuments, cafés, markets, and the unique atmosphere of the old city. The Medina is accessible from central Tunis and is approximately 15–20 minutes by car from Tunis-Carthage International Airport, depending on traffic. As Dar Ya is located within the historic Medina, the final part of the journey may be made on foot through its traditional streets.
Good to know
This immersion is designed as an intimate and welcoming artistic experience for women from different countries and cultural backgrounds. No previous painting or artistic experience is required. Participants are invited to explore creativity freely and at their own pace. Comfortable clothing and walking shoes are recommended for exploring the Medina. Participants are also encouraged to bring their curiosity, openness, and desire to discover Tunisian culture through art, music, and meaningful encounters. Further practical information regarding the program, materials, meeting points, and preparation will be shared with registered participants before the immersion.
