Kakamega, Kenya
About
I am a self-taught artist born in Kenya in 1970. My work revolves around the human figure and explores socio-political observations, gender, and human interrogation. In 1990, I co-founded Banana Hill Art Studio in Nairobi, Kenya, a collective of artists for self-reliance and free exchange. I am the founder of Kampi ya Lucki, an entrepreneurship project that incorporates hospitality and art exchange programs to promote cultural and artistic exchange, both locally and internationally. The project is set up in a beautiful spot next to the Kakamega Rain Forest Game Reserve in Kenya, where artists can both work and experience the unique biodiversity around them.
