About this opportunity
The space
StartArt Creative House provides a shared studio, indoor and outdoor workspaces, fibre Wi-Fi throughout the house and gardens, and several accommodation options. Residents share a communal table and can also use the pool in season, river access, kayaks, and SUP boards.
Surroundings
The house is in Loureira, Vila Verde, near Braga in Northern Portugal, around 40 minutes by car from Porto and 15 minutes from Braga. The Rio Homem is on the doorstep, with nature and cultural destinations within reach.
Life during a stay
The residency is open to established artists and people developing a creative practice; no portfolio is required. The weekly rhythm balances self-directed studio time with community nights, cultural outings, markets, mural walks, and nature excursions.
What the artist will do
Develop a self-directed creative project or practice while taking part in the shared rhythm of the house.
Good to know
Rates include accommodation, three vegetarian meals per day, studio access, fibre Wi-Fi, and the shared programme. Personal art materials, transport outside scheduled outings, and lunches during excursion days are not included. Saturday check-in begins at 1pm.
