About this opportunity
The space
The Perch is on 4 acres with 12 private cabins. It seems very secluded and remote but is actually only a few minutes from stores, shopping and restaurants. Retreat attendees and individual artists enjoy the peacefulness and get work done. We offer artist residencies two or three times a year.
Surroundings
The Perch is ten minutes from Lake Arrowhead, in the San Bernardino mountains. It's 90 minutes from LA and two hours from San Diego. Most people come up Highway 18 (Rim of the World Highway). Since we are a mile high, we have winters.
Life during a stay
Private and shared cabins are available. You can stay in your cabin, walk around, sit on a bench by yourself, work in the barn alone or with others. Most cabins have full kitchens so you can cook for yourself, but our artists retreat organizers usually hire a private chef (we have a great one, but you can bring your own) so that people can work and have everything taken care of. Many enjoy morning yoga in our barn or out on our beautiful deck under the trees.
What the artist will do
Artists are free to develop their own projects.
House rules
No smoking in the cabins. No loud noise after 10 PM. Pets are welcome.
