The space
Sophie Green leads daily small-scale acrylic painting sessions at Zebra Hills Safari Lodge in the Manyoni Private Game Reserve. Guests can bring photographs from the morning game drives into the studio as references, watch Sophie demonstrate her methods and work on their own canvases. Teaching covers sketching, colour mixing, using a grid and interpreting reference photos, with individual feedback across the week.
Life during a stay
Seven nights at Zebra Hills Safari Lodge are included. Guests stay in spacious shared ensuite rooms with a private outdoor deck and shower; a private room option is also available. Meals, drinks, and snacks during the stay are included.
Good to know
The 2027 retreat runs 4–11 May and welcomes all artistic abilities. Airport transfers from King Shaka International Airport and scheduled game drives are included. Sessions are relaxed and optional rather than intensive.

Itinerary
Safari reference and studio painting
Gather visual references on a morning drive, then join Sophie for an introductory acrylic painting session.
Daily painting practice
Work on small canvases with demonstrations of sketching, grids and colour mixing, and receive individual feedback.
Group exhibition
Reflect on the week in the studio and share work in the published end-of-retreat exhibition.
